100 Mile Challenge Check In

Good morning!
This week I have been putting my running shoes to work on my 100 mile challenge. My goal is to run/walk/jog 100 miles before my big family beach trip in mid-July!
I have a 3 mile loop in my neighborhood that my mom discovered and I have stuck to it. It’s a bit hill-y for my taste, but it makes for a challenging work out. To get myself going, I absolutely cannot run without my essentials:
- Garmin FR70 heart rate monitor: I tend to have a high heart rate, so I like to keep track of it. It also is a wonderful tool to track my time, calories burned and average heart rate. LOVE IT!
- iPhone & headphones: gotta have some tunes. Duh.
- Nike head band: two words–pesky bangs. For girls, it’s a must have.
My other favorite thing I don’t like to leave home without…
Belle! She only likes to walk down to the end of our street. Then a car or a bird will spook her and she will freeze and won’t move an inch more. When she’s decided she’s done with her 2 minute walk, she grabs her leash and pulls me all the way home–she basically walks herself back. ha
She’s a nut–but her little walk serves as a good warm up!
I have jogged 3 miles every day this week. Grand total of miles to date: 61!
I’ve got 18 days left and 39 miles to go. I’m definitely behind, but it’s do-able. I better get to steppin’
Have a wonderful day!
Love, Kath
